SUITUATION: WHAT I WORE TO M(T)FA 15

It doesn't happen very often that I have the whole weekend off. Last saturday I attended the
coronation night of the beauty pageant Miss Filipina Austria, where they looked for the one who
deserves the crown. Katja was one of the candidates and I am happy to announce that she won
the title for Miss Filipina Austria Earth. Yaaap that's my girl. Here's what I wore and I'd like to add
a few thoughts to this event, so let's get started. Btw. I just came home and drank one too much.
So my apologies for any mistakes that may follow.

So I was excited to pick a more formal outfit which was appropriate for this event. I decided to
not go for a black and white combination. The weather was perfect so it was one more reason to
pick a more colorful outfit for spring. As you can see I picked all of my nudes and combined it
with a little bit of white to keep my outfit bright.

Now let's talk a little bit about the event and start with the idea. I think that the concept was quite
interesting. As a filipina I am a big fan of bringin' our origins to Europe in a different kind of way.
The idea of looking out for beautiful women with Philippine roots and also lookin' for their inner
beauty within a process up to the point of the coronation night is really great, not only because people
get to see and get to know these wonderful ladies in a different kind of way, but also giving these
young ladies the chance to shine in a different kind of way and gain more self confidence is a big part
of it. And I know that it's not easy as I had to fight with myself in gaining more confidence when I
started this blog. So hats off to all the wonderful ladies who participated.

Unfortunately I have o say that there was a bit of a lack regarding the organization of this event.
It took one hour to get every guest seated. Probably this one's not to blame on the organizers because
unfortunately I have to say that we Filipinos (even if I'm proud to be one) can be a lil bit of pain in
the ass when it comes to behavior of sticking to their seats when it comes to any kind of event. What
I mean is that there were different categories of tickets that were sold and all I have to say is:

Dear Kababayans,
If you bought the cheapest tickets, you better take a seat in one of the last rows and stop being trouble
makers by taking away the seats of other guests.

Dear Austrian guests who attended,
thank you for your understanding but this is how we Filipinos roll sometimes. If you're not used to it,
you might get the idea that this was a mistake of the organizers but it really isn't Events like this one
are always like cat fights.  And I think that an event like Miss Filipina Austria is a big step to bring a
little bit of  European manner and behavior to our homeland. Don't get me wrong. I love my people,
but it's just typical for them and it's easy for others who are not used to it, to get a wrong first
impression. And I can tell you that it's like that because I heard some of you complaining about my
people last weekend.
That's why I think this should be explained to all of you. Still, Filipinos are hard working and most
caring people of all time. Better remember these features when it comes to Filipinos ok? :)

The show started great with a performance of all the candidates of MFA & MFTA. They were all
great and shining like stars. Little did we or they know that the show will last longer than expected.
More to this later. The candidates were all introduced by the three hosts. Not sure if it was a good
idea to get that many hosts for this event though, still they managed it really well and entertaining.
We got to know the names, age and most important (you will understand why) all the language skills
of the participating candidates. After bikini presentations and an announced break of 30 minutes (?
please correct me if I'm wrong), which surprisingly ;P lasted longer than  expected it was finally time
for the question and answer part. Things like this and especially in front of a lot of people can be a
little nerve wracking but the candidates of a beauty pageant are supposed to be prepared. At least this
is what I thought. After the first one answered her question let's say average, the show went on and
we moved on to the next candidate. Ok, I'm not sure if she was the one that was introduced to speak
fluently English, German, Italian, Spanish, French or whatever, but most of them were introduced to
speak at least English, German and Filipino.
"Judge your question to candidate number xx please".
And then it started to get a little bit uncomfortable. Two of the candidates were not able to answer the
easiest questions even if it also was translated in different languages and some of the answers were
just giving the audience reason for vicarious embarrassment. Further, crying on stage didn't make
anything better. Still, I felt pity for them. I wish I could go into detail but I don't
wanna offend anyone. I'm  just saying that a little bit of common sense and intelligence is a big deal
when it comes to inner beauty. BUT luckily there were others who not only managed to answer the
questions, but also managed to give answers that actually made sense. No surprise that these ladies
made it to the top 6 and two of them won this thing. Separating the wheat from the chaff huh?

So the winners of the night are:

Miss Filipina Austria 2015 RP Sabine Langer
All I can say is: confidence, gracefulness, brain and beauty. Well deserved!

Miss Filipina Austria Earth 2015 Katja Kay Sabando
That's my girl! Cheering all night and she made us proud! Soooo classy and natural. Her smile cannot
be beaten!

Miss Teen Filipina Austria 2015 Alexa Hörnecke
Dannnnng this girl is only 14 years old and already a diamond. She's confident about herself
and a natural beauty.
