GENERATION NOT SO QUIET

A new generation has arisen which is anything but quiet, that's for sure. Just let me introduce to
this handsome young guy real quick. Still remember my good friend Lance from the LNCLASSICK
blogpost? I guess the stylistic sense runs in the blood. The guy you see here is his younger but not
so little cousin anymore: Dominik Mendoza.

Here's a little background to what inspired me to do this post:
Last weekend I realized that the new generation has a lot to offer. And when I say a lot ... I really
mean A LOT! There was this charity dance competition going on and it wasn't the first I've been to.
But this time was different. Don't know what it is but I really feel old now. The energy-consiousness
and their body control is insane. I've never felt this old but ever since I've seen all these dancers up
on stage I have this queasy feeling of being in a sort-of mid-life-crisis. I know that we all used to be
more energetic but this the power that the 'kids' have nowadays is terrific. As these thoughts kept
bothering me - not necessarily in a good or in a bad way - I thought why not introduce you to one of
the youngsters and 'analyze' what I think about the powerful youth.

Dominik and his dance crew 'Guess What' also entered the dance competition and DANNG they
really killed it. Their performance has smitten me with amazement. Watch their performance here to
get my point. Standing in the corner of the venue where it all took place, I watched Dominik dancing
and his crew dancing and really marveled at what was happening there at this moment. His
appearance was totally different from what I was used to see when I meet him when he's hanging
with Lance, me or other friends. Like he isn't the person that talks too much. Actually I'm making
fun of him because he totally can handle it, not saying a word for like two or three hours even if he's
being asked something. Still being flabbergasted about what was going on up there I realized one
thing ...

DON'T UNDERESTIMATE THE QUIET ONES.

And I'll try to explain to you why because I built up the following theory:

My first thought while watching the performance was: Ok this guy was saving up all his energy
by not talking just to kill such a performance and put on his beast mode. All this quietness is
balancing out everything that he has to offer like he's keeping everything for a moment like this.

And then I thought that this doesn't only regard dancing. Obviously I wouldn't put this up on the
blog, which I like to call a fashion blog (some of you might disagree but I don't care at all). What
I am trying to say while building up this tension while writing is: Dominik doesn't talk to me a lot.
But this is ok. This is who he is and I realized that he speaks through different things. He
communicates through non-verbal actions. One of them is dancing. And oh let me tell you
something... He also communicates himself through the way he dresses. I see the striking balance of
silcence and quietness smoothened out by putting all the energy in things that don't need words at all.

I find myself a lot talking to friends about Dominik and his sense of style because he really is a well-
dressed young man. Not all people at this age are that confident and daring when it comes to clothing.
I promise, you'll get my point when you see some of his instagram pics at the latest. Everytime he
puts up a new pic I am mentally putting him on my top list of the new generation.

Ok after all this philosophizing to the fullest let's talk about this outfit here right nooooow.
YAAAP, I KNOW RIGHT? He rocked them basic items and shouted it out loud with some key-
pieces. He is one of the people that have this appearance where you can proudly say that this is
the proof that menswear is more than just shirts and ties but encompasses style and is the play-
ground for proportion, fabrics, colors and everything what your imagination has to offer.

Though he was keepin' it clean today, I really think that he has a lot of potential and is one of few
that can rock everything in his own way. He's young and I think that there will still be a lot of
changes in his taste but only in a good way. Do me the favor and take a look and some of his
IG-posts and you will know what I mean. There are always these little things that are added
to his outfits that make them look big-time.

VALENTINES VICTIM?

And if you wanna be my Valentine, we better spend the day like any other day. I already told you
that I'm not the biggest fan of this 'special day'. But I feel like most people do care about it
so that's why I thought I'd give you an idea of what to wear.

I'm not hating, I just really don't care about Valentine's day. Why? You might think I'm desperate
but actually I think that all the special things people do on this specific day should be done all
year round. Surprising someone with little things (not only on Feb, 14) is what actually counts.
But it's ok. It's another day that makes people feel special and excited so everyone should
have their own opinion on that.

Valentine's Day is a day that brings out the soft side in people, especially the soft side in men.
And women actually enjoy this. I also think that people might set the expectations too high when it
comes to this day (e.g. proposals on Valentine's). I guess this is the fault of all the love movies
that shape people's mindsets. Well, for all the readers out there who still enjoy being excited for
tomorrow: Here's a last minute outfit idea.

I picked a very casual outfit so it suits singles and ladies that are in any kind of relationship
right now. For me this outfit works for a casual hang and also for an actual date.

I guess it's not really surprising that I went with the color red. And there's not much to say and
actually there's no further explanation needed for that choice. I paired my red coat with a red
jumper and still don't think that this "pop of red" is too much of color. I picked a jumper and not
necessarily a dress because I wanted to keep it casual with a, let's say, romantic touch.

You might have recognized that my play-it-safe combination with jumpers is pairing them with a
simple collar blouse. Works every time and if some of you are not sure if you have an actual date
with your secret special someone, you might not wanna be overdressed so this combination still
keeps your outfit cool.

Still wanted to jazz up this outfit so I went for black leather optic shorts and black tights. February
is still winter time - at least here in Austria. So looking pretty is one thing but you also have to
keep in mind that you don't wanna freeze your ass off. The combination of a coat, jumper and
thick tights are a pretty foolproof plan. If you don't have any reds in your closet, try it with a
black and white combination to keep it classy or another color just to bring a little life to your outfit.
If you wanna go for the black and white version and feel a little too basic just try it with a heavier
make up.

Not only that I think that this actually is a pretty cute outfit combination, but these are items that you
will find in your closet for sure. So if you need a last minute outfit, go and figure out if you have
similars to combine for tomorrow's date.

Wishin' you all a wonderful Valentines Day. I'm going to enjoy the day by celebrating the 1st B-Day
of my cousin's baby. So I guess I already found my Valentine.

SLOWJAMS FOR YOUR VALENTINE

Some of you might know that I'm really not a fan of valentines day or any kind of romantic gestures.
Don't get me wrong. I still believe that there are several things that men or women should do to win
somebody's heart but it doesn't necessarily include flowers, chocolate, candle light dinners or any
kind of off-the-rack things. I grew up here in Austria but still flew to the Philippines every year or
at least every other year. So I didn't only grew up with the Philippine culture, but also had to live in
a world where they would play love songs all the way in. I really have to say that sometimes I do
enjoy these corny love songs. I mean yeah, go on and deny it but every single person has to listen
to a different kind of music genre to clear their minds. Actually a lot of the songs I will put into my
fave list below are songs, that I used to listen to when I was a teenager so it's not really the meaning
of the song - and by meaning of the song I mean the meaning that was intended by the song writer -
that get's me but more the memories of the good old times I enjoyed within the the last years.
Sometimes I sit in the car with good friends and we listen to 'our' music just to reminisce about
the good old days. Well enough of that now. Let's start this.
WARNING: This listing includes really corny songs too and I would recommend you just to skip
some of the songs or to leave the page if you're really allergic to these kind of songs or just intend to
hate.

Let's kick my playlist off with my favorite diva of all time. If you know me well, you should have
bet that I'll start my playlist with one of her songs. Here we go:

1. Mariah Carey - Always Be My Baby
is one of the most played songs on my iPhone. Not quite sure why .. but I just love her. Also fell for
David Cook's version for a long long time but I now prefer Miss Mariah's.

2. Usher - Nice and Slow
This song is also one of my all-time fave songs. I also found this RND acoustic version which is
one of my study-jams. Whenever I have to study I can only listen to one song for like one month
just because I can't manage to concentrate when listening to different songs but can't focus when
it's completely silent.

3. Usher feat. Monica - Slow Jam
just because a slow jam list wouldn't be complete without Usher and Monica's "Slow Jam". So here's
#3 of my corny hit list.

4. Fabolous feat. Tamia - Into You
Oh this is definitely a song I would never skip when it comes on and it's also one of the song we
listen to in the car and just sing along with.

5. Fat Joe feat. Ashanti - What's Luv
Doesn't really count as a slow jam I guess but I really can't deal with skippin' this one in my list.

6. Ashanti - Foolish
Valentines Day is the day of hearts, flowers and a love overdose. Let's just not forget that love is
blind. And here's the anthem. Love yourself and it's all goooood :)

7. Frank Ocean - Thinkin' About You
Definitely a song that I heard too often but still have to list here. I feel like this song is just brilliant.

8. Chris Brown feat. Usher and Rick Ross - New Flame
Ohhh how could I think of this song just now? Guess there's no ranking in this list because I just
LOVEEEE THIS JAM! (btw. also one of my study songs)

9. Somo - Ride
Whoop, you'd definitely score with this song. Nuff said.

10. Musiq Soulchild - Don't Change
This lyrics are definitely too much but still kinda cute.

Actually I thought that I could pick only 10 but I can't stop at this point so let's go on with another
10 ;P

11. Mariah Carey - We Belong Together
As I said she's my queen.

12. Usher feat. Alicia Keys - My Boo
On point. You never see it coming 'cause you're blinded from the start. #12 goes to Usher and
Alicia and "My Boo".

13. Miguel - Adorn
A playlist full of emotions wouldn't be complete without this guy that likes to jump on his fans.

14. Jodeci - Freakin' You
GODDAMMMMMNNNNNNNN! I really can't find the right words for this song now. Just.. Damnn.

15. Joy Denalane - Was auch immer
One of the few german songs I love to listen to. Don't get me wrong I love listening to german songs,
just that this is the only one I recently listen to besides her song 'Geh Jetzt' which wouldn't be
the best choice for V-Day.

16. South Border - Wherever You Are
From German songs let's lead over to the songs that are so typical for the Philippines. This is
probably one of the corniest songs listed here. I have to say that even I have to turn off the music
sometimes when I hear this song but there are times where it's just perfect. I feel kinda embarrassed
right now haha.

17. Daniel Ombao - Tadhana
I used to talk to my friends about this lately. This is only the audition of Daniel who was a contestant
at The Voice Philippines. We are looking for a full version of this song and hope that'll be online soon
just because he killed this song. The original by Up Dharma Down isn't bad but doesn't really suit our
taste. #SORRYNOTSORRY
But as most of you probably won't understand a word I doubt that u feel me. Actually wait. I don't
understand a word either. It's like the really deep tagalog that I didn't grew up with. I get some of
the words though.

18. Mary J Blige - Be Without You
There's so much behind this song but I'm not going into it. Just to be clear. I am a person that gets
caught by music easily. I could write a whole post about this song but let's not forget that I only
wanted to list a few of my all-time faves today.

Gosh we only have 2 more songs to go and I feel like I could share my whole playlist with you all.
FYI I have an extra playlist for songs like these and another turn-up playlist. I'm not that kind of
wimp. Ok difficult choice right now to pick two more... I guess I'll pick the two that'll come to my
mind first. And after picking them I will regret it a few days after publishing this post because I
had other songs that I wanted to share with you - I'm sure it'll be like this.

19. Trey Songz - Neighbors Know My Name
Haha this is definitely a good choice for this list that I won't regret. Trigga on VDay, Trigga on
every day !

20. J. Holiday - Suffocate
Though I actually had to end this post with Chris Brown's "Yo - Excuse Me Miss" which would
have been a good choice too but I think I'll end this one with a lillll of J. Holiday. Just because
I enjoy listening to this song every single time.

Hope you enjoyed at least some of the songs I listed here. There are so much more but I think that's
enough for today. Some of the songs are really nice to play in the background if you're planning
on a good hang or a comfy date with your special someone no matter if it's your boyfriend or
girlfriend, best friend, family or your pet.
Which one is your fave slow jam? Let me know by just leaving the title in the comment box.

WHAT'S IN MY BAG?

Happy Friday everyone,

since yesterday's outfit post included my new bag I thought why not show you what's in it?
I was was thinking about doing a what's in my bag post for a long time but to be honest
I thought that this is like the sanctuary of every woman. Now I think that I reached the point where
I don't really care anymore because I'm already sharing everything I do with all of my readers.
With showing you what I carry with me I feel like sharing something personal with you.

Also was considering doing a video for you guys but seriously - Let's stick to pictures first. Videos
might follow soon :)

So let's get started and see what's in my bag ...

Just in case you haven't seen yesterdays post (click here) yet: This is the Too Hot To Handle Tote bag
from Marc by Marc Jacobs in black.

#1
First thing I carry with me almost every day is my iPad Mini just in case I want to publish a post
when I'm on the go or download some files I might need for my studying. Still looking for a keyboard
for that one just to make life easier when working on some blogposts. Any recommendations? Just
leave them in the comment section.

#2

Second thing I have to have with me every day is my planner. Seriously. I am totally lost without
my planner. My to-do-lists, my appointments and also my ideas are written down in this little black
book. I know I might as well use iCal or the google calendar but I find it more comfortable just to
stick to this old school planners.

#3

Sunnies are a daily essential. When I leave the house without having them with me I make sure
to find a way to get me some. As soon as there are just some sun rays in sight i will put my
glasses on. And if the sun is hiding you'll probably see me wearing my sunnies anyways. If I forget
my sunnies at home and can't manage to get a pair for some reason I either have to go home, buy a
new pair or have the badest mood on earth for the rest of the day. I don't know what it is but I find
that a pair of sunglasses add something mysterious to your personality and can round up your
outfit easily. I just feel more comfortable wearing them. I picked up these pair on one of my trips
in Berlin from &otherstories.

#4

Ok this looks kinda gross and I definitely have to clean this brush right after I finished this post.
But every girl carries at least one or two SOS make up items in her bag. I got this cute little make
up bag from my mom which fits into every bag (except for my clutches of course). My go-to items
in this make up bag are: pressed powder, lip balm, 2 lipsticks (1 nude and 1 red shade), mascara, an
eyeliner pen and concealer. I carry more than one or two items with me just because this is everything
I might need to make some touch-ups during the day. But writing this post I just realize that I never
really do touch up my make up except for my lipstick. I just feel the need to carry everything in my
bag because I often find myself in situations where I have to take double-shifts and have to sleep in
the hotel for just one or two hours before starting my day at work. Even without too much sleep,
everyone still wants to look fresh so yap, that's why I have all these things with me.

Next to the make up bag you see my addiction and the ultimate hand cream on earth! I use the one
from La Roche-Posay Lipikar Xerand. It smells soooo good and keeps your hands smooth. One of
the other benefits of this cream is that it sets very quickly and takes also good care of your cuticles.
Sometimes I also remove my cuticle on the go with the help of this magic cream.

#5

Ok I am really proud to say that I actually found this in my bag because my friends and I used to
talk about this a lot. Our parents would always say that all girls need to have tissue paper in their
bags and actually they are totally right. I don't know if it's only my circle of friends but most of the
girls I know just don't (or they do only if they have a cold). Funny thing is that I always ask one of
the boys for a tissue paper because I can tell for sure that he has some in his pocket (you know who
you are).
What I really like to have in my bag is hand sanitizer. I mean come on it can really be gross out there.
Just tike to take this with me just to feel clean throughout the day.

#6

Well, well. I prefer using hair brushes but I carry a comb in my bag just because it's not as bulky
as hair brushes. In combination to that I like to have a travel size dry shampoo with me. I have the
bad habit of running late and if I don't find the time to wash my hair I need to clean the mess on my
head up as a backup plan. It's not that I don't have the time to wash my hair in that situations. It's
more that I don't have the time to blow dry them or let them air dry. I usually wash my hair every
day so I only use this to get rid of the oiliness. The thing about dry shampoos is that I have like a
love-hate relationship to them. I just like the fact that your hair feels and smells like you washed it
and looks fresh, but actually you still feel gross by knowing that you didn't wash your hair. Who's
with me in this? Btw, the one I'm using was recommended by one of my best friends and is the
Baptiste dry shampoo.

#7

On to the essentials of life: My phone, my power bank and my cam. There's nothing more to say.
I know u feel me.

#8

Thanks to this post I realized that I have to stock up my all-time-fave perfume. This one is by Chloè.
Lol.. obviously. It has this nice powdery smell. I also love Chloè Love but I
think that this is like my signature perfume.

#9

Ok here you see my keys and also the key card for entering our team member entrance at work.
My home keys have this key chain with a little pouch where I like to keep my coins. In the MK
wallet I keep some of my cards, actually only the ones I use every day like my debit card. I really
don't like carrying cash around. And then.. there's only one black little leather thing left that looks
like a card holder. Actually it is a little purse where I keep something than can help out once a month
if you know what I mean. #girlproblems

#10

Don't judge! Yes these are cigarettes and a lighter and yes I do smoke. The white/pink little
container you see is a container for my contacts. Just in case I have to take them out. Actually
a cool thing I got from my optician in the Philippines. In the container you also have a little bottle
where you can keep a little amount of the contact liquid just in case.

I also always carry gum with me. And the pink leather card holders just include a lot of cards like
my team member card, library cards and some loyalty cards and membership cards.

Earphones! Same as sunnies! If I forget them at home you better don't talk to me the whole day.
Music is everything and I can't even sit still without listening to music while I'm studying. I wake
up and turn the music on. I shower and turn the music on. I eat and that's the only time where the
TV is on. I go to sleep and need to listen to some slow jams to fall asleep. If I forget my earphones
I know that it will be a bad bad bad bad bad bad day.

Sooo that's pretty much it. These are my main items I carry with me every day. I hope that you
enjoyed this post. I feel like everything that I carry with me is like a reflection to my personality.
So I feel that everyone who reads this gets to know me a little better.

Enjoy your weekend everyone <3

FURRY TAIL

Heeeelllooo Hellooo!
Yessss ! I finally managed to shoot a new outfit. Work and university had kept me pretty busy
and I was literally counting the days down knowing that I have 2 weeks off work. This week
I decided to dedicate the whole week to myself just to relax a little bit. Me-time of course always
includes dedicating some time to this blog. I'm really not happy about the fact, that I can't manage
to post on a regular basis but I really try my best to do so. Well, enough of that. Ooooon to todays
outfit:

I have to say that I've really had enough of these cold days here in Vienna. Not only that I really
hate wrapping myself into winter clothes. Yesterday I made one stupid  mistakes by dropping off
almost all of my coats at the dry cleaning without even thinkin' about what I'm going to wear the next
days. Well, that's why I had to stick to this leather jacket today. Knowing that I'd be freezing I layered
up three layers underneath. As one scarf just wasn't working I decided to put my furry scarf on.

This furry tail is a vintage piece I found in my mom's closet and now call mine. This piece was
giving my outfit a touch of a russian scout (yap that's how I'd describe it). It might look like a little
key piece but this little thing has really keeping me warm today. I would also have added my fave
leather gloves to this outfit but I lost them the other day :(

Also I want to introduce you all to the new baby of the family: Baby MJ. I was definitely planning
on buying a black bag but I was specifically looking for one with a zip as somebody almost pinched
some stuff from me the other day (go to hell!). Aside from that I was looking for the perfect size of
my black bag. So I decided to go with this Too Hot To Handle Tote in black.

What I enjoyed most is, that I was finally able to take this photos with the one I started this thing.
Pics were taken by Katja today. Thanks again KitKat! Well, stay tuned for the next post.. Something
leaps in my mind right now.
